Educated poetry and ignorant life
Can never touch:
Poetry is learned in the schools;
Life is an embarrassing love reserved for fools.
Husband and wife cannot love each other too much:
The child must come first:
Before life does its worst,
Put the child in school.
Brats all in a row;
Give their passionate minds a tool,
A computer: to fight the foe,
Ignorance—another name for wandering life.
I write poems in a school on a computer for my co-worker wife.
