An infinite sea cannot be
without an infinite port.
Poetry was overthrown
by one mean retort.
One solution was the circle
but bending takes effort
and the infinite
knows no effort.
“Infinity is zero,” the math whiz figured out.
But mathematics aside, the merely wise said,
“All things come to those who wait.
The universe is small.
It is never too late.”
Failing infinitely to be infinite,
I’m a creature built for decay.
But failing to be infinite for infinity
I still hope to be infinite one day.
