broken love and the steps you took not to die,
arrogance and indifference which drove you insane?
That was your manufactured joy and pain,
your soul’s hallucinations all along.
Everything you do? Your soul laughs.
And when you are judged by the moral court at last,
your soul will be laughing,
just as it laughed in the past,
