After a century of bad thought
I thought something should be done.
I took a no. 2 pencil
And wrote a series of edicts
(I looked up the word edict first).
I had free time
Because many resent me
As cold—because I like to think.
Or maybe I’m cold—and therefore I think.
Do I like to think? Or am I cold,
And that’s why I think?
This problem informed
One of my edicts. All of them,
In fact, since thought is a web.
Existence is a web. The slightest
Movement—even a thought—
Moves it. Don’t
Be sad. I’m right here,
